Augmentation.

Augmentation is the action or process of creating something larger in size. This abstract concept was the root idea of Saks Fifth Avenue when Horace Saks and Bernard Gimbel created the new department store. The idea was to create a specialty space that is large and creates a feeling of endless stock. As times change, stores are closing and reducing footprints due to the upwards battle against online shopping. Providing a space that utilizes augmented reality to expand the bounds of the in-store Saks experience can define Saks’ concept of shopping in a new way: offering endless stock in a confined space through a modern lens: just how the original 10-story Saks building did in New York when they first opened.
